Worth thinking about
60x40 and 40x60 have identical area but behave differently. Choose 60x40 when access matters more than depth — several bays all reachable from the front. Choose 40x60 when you want depth for a work aisle or drive-through, and it will usually cost a little less because a 40-foot frame is more efficient than a 60-foot one.

A 60x40 shell runs roughly $53,000–$96,000 installed, with turnkey typically between $156,000 and $252,000. Pricing is close to a 40x60 of the same area, usually slightly higher because the wider clear span needs heavier framing.
40x60 is usually marginally cheaper. Both enclose 2,400 square feet, but a 40-foot clear span uses lighter frames than a 60-foot span. If door access across the front is what you need, the difference is generally worth paying.
